- Still there when you come back. Close Telegram, open it tomorrow — your saved preferences, professors, goals, and lecture notes are still there until you ask Emily to delete them.
- A memory tree you can trust. Notes live in a readable memory tree (by day, topic, and source) — not a black-box chat log. Emily scouts what she knows about you before each reply.
- Just ask in plain words. Say "remember I like …", "my goal is …", or "save this lecture to my memory" — no special syntax. Emily writes it down when you are not in private mode.
- Emily may ask before saving. If you mention something in passing, Emily might ask yes or no before keeping it — lecture summaries stay pending until you opt in.
- See it, export it, delete it. Ask "what do you know about me?" anytime. Download your data or say "forget everything" to wipe saved memory — a parent-set forget PIN may be required for a full wipe.

This is different from your recent chat history. Things you ask Emily to remember — including opt-in lecture notes and learning goals — stay saved until you delete them. When a conversation gets very long, Emily may focus on recent messages — that does not erase what you asked her to keep.

- Long chats stay manageable. Very long back-and-forths get summarized instead of replaying every message. Emily still knows what you are working on.

Emily cleans your messages on her own server before sending anything to OpenAI or other AI services. Your real name, contacts, and personal details are replaced with generic labels — and the mapping that links labels back to you never leaves Emily.

- Stripped before it leaves Emily. Your message, chat history, and study context are cleaned on Emily's server before any call to OpenAI or other AI services.
- Generic labels — not partial blur. Names and personal details become fixed placeholders (like "the student"), not half-hidden text. That blocks mosaic attacks — piecing clues together from many partial leaks across queries.
- The real map stays local. Who you are, your professors, campus, and contacts are mapped on Emily's server only. That mapping is never sent to AI providers.
- Emails, phones, and IDs removed. Structured personal information — email addresses, phone numbers, account IDs, and similar fields — is scrubbed from outbound text.
- Replies checked before you see them. Emily reviews AI replies so internal privacy labels do not leak back into your Telegram chat.
On by default. Separate from memory you control — anonymization affects what AI companies receive, not what Emily saves locally until you delete it.

Not automatic — know the gaps
- Memory & quiz progress. Do not auto-sync to Drive — use "export my data" for a full ZIP.
- Private chats. Messages in privacy mode or marked private are omitted from exports.
- Uploaded files on Emily. Server copies are short-lived (~24h) unless archived to your Drive.
- Server failure. Without your own export or Drive copies, data on the tutor server could be lost.
After forget: Copies already in your Google Drive are not deleted when you say "forget everything" on Emily — see the Privacy Policy. Full export before a forget is a good idea if you want to keep everything.
